My Story

I took the plunge and launched TIMENSPACE  in 2017 to help small business owners organise their financial and information worlds both in business and life and clear space for growth instead. 

Having worked for large multinational organisations in Australia and overseas for over 25 years, predominately in the fields of Finance, Procurement and Administration Management across different industries, numbers, being organised and improving business systems and processes were my jam. I loved my career, but my feelings and sentiment towards the corporate space changed after the birth of my first child.

An aha moment for me and pivotal to exiting a job of 8 years to start my own business was due to one particular day. We were renovating our newly purchased home and living with our parents in the interim, a good 30 mins from our home. A daily routine involved getting myself and my young infant ready so I could drop him off at kindy before heading to the train station to be at work for 9am, ready to start the day in a role that required all my mental resources. On this day, I was late dropping my son off at kindy due to traffic. I will never forget driving hurriedly towards the train station, frantically driving around for a park, taking my shoes off and running towards the train that had arrived and still stationed. I just made it before the doors closed, sweating and stressed, but relieved, as I wasn’t going to be late for work. Still finding my feet with Motherhood and sleep deprived, I was spent, unhappy and disillusioned with the 9-5 drill.

My priorities had changed, I had changed. It propelled me to carve a business that facilitated better use of my time and provided flexibility around my new role as a Mother, whilst still allowing me to fuel my entrepreneurial spirit and continue to use and hone my skills. I was craving a business model that aligned with my values, was mutually beneficial, and an offering of services and skills that didn’t rely on me being fenced in at my desk from 9-5.

I could see there was a market for assisting small business owners who did not have enough work or could afford or justify a part- or full-time salary for back office tasks and functions. A business model offering assistance short term, weekly, monthly, quarterly or even a once only visit, was very appealing to me.

With my love and passion for numbers, cloud-technology and relentlessness for efficiencies and being organised, it was my calling to support small business owners with their financial and information worlds. Exploring and executing all opportunities to deliver better financial and organisational outcomes is a genuine flow state for me.

With the support of family, friends and work colleagues, TIMENSPACE came to life in 2017. The business continues to grow, as more and more small business owners take off some hats by outsourcing and improving back office functions and tasks to focus on growth and their core competencies.

 MEET DONNA – OWNER

From Scotland, Donna immigrated to Australia in 2002. She has a degree in Commerce with a Major in Accounting and an honours degree in Psychological Science from Griffith University in Brisbane. She is a Certified Bookkeeper, BAS Agent, Xero Advisor and a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, Australian Bookkeepers Network and Australian Accounting Technicians.


As well as numbers and all things organisational, she is passionate about the psychological, physical and energetic impact of clutter on one’s mind in all areas of life, from work, to family, but is particularly interested in how this affects working environments.

Utilising cloud technology, apps and tools, she frames her core services from the business owner's perspective with a key focus on streamlining and efficiencies to ensure her clients business thrives.

She is passionate about working with small business owners, making businesses work better and freeing up business owners to concentrate on growing their business and avoid wasting time and human resources in to back office financial and administrative functions that can be better provided from third-party professional services providers.

She is in touch with business operations at the grassroots level and brings 30 years experience and the latest technological solutions to streamline and simplify financial and administrative processes that save time and reduce costs.

Succulents, a beautiful candle, an energising crystal and positive daily reminders are must halves on her desk. A daily self-care routine involves exercise, being organised and having a desk space and office environment that is inspiring, stress and clutter-free whilst working for, alongside and in collaboration with like minded women who support one another.
